Than Sadet Waterfall and National Park
Located 45 Minutes from the villa, the park is named after the royal visit of Rama V, Than Sadet (lit. Royal River) who came to the island to visit the waterfall first in 1888, then returned as many as fourteen times over the next 21 years.
Rama V's initials can still be seen carved in a commemorative rock near the estuary of the river where the waterfall empties into the sea at Than Sadet Bay.
The river itself forms a series of waterfalls and rock pools along its 2.5 km length, providing excellent trekking possibilities. Several other Thai monarchs have visited the site including the King Rama IX.
You can go to the waterfall site with scooter or car.
Ang Thong National Marine Park
Mu Ko Ang Thong is a marine national park in the Gulf of Thailand, on the shores of the Surat Thani Province. It covers 42 islands in a total area of 102 km², of which only 18 km² are land. The park was established on 12 November 1980. The northern tip of Phaluai is also part of the marine park. There are Ranger Stations, Bungalows, Shop and a Restaurant at Ao Phi beach on Ko Wua Thalap.
You can visit this island directly with an organized boat tour that will come to pick you up at your villa. The tour usually include a lunch meal and other activities such as Kayaking and diving.
Haad Salad Beach
Haad Salad Beach in the local dialect translates as 'pirate beach'. This is because the sheltered cove with its coral reefs and shallow bay was inaccessible by the Thai navy and hence made an excellent place for smugglers to hide. Nowadays the beautiful white sand beach and crystal clear waters of Haad Salad are no longer used by pirates but rather by those looking for a paradise beach holiday.
The beach is located right in front of Bay Villa Haad Salaad and accessible by walk in less than 5 minutes.
